Bye Bye Binkie….

Well our little Samantha Jane officially said good bye to her binkie this week. Now trust me, it was definitely not her decision, and she was none too happy with me on Monday morning on the advice of my dear friend Diana (thanks girlie) that I sliced a hole in the top of it so it would no longer function as the beautiful prized binkie that has given so much comfort over the past 15 months. Nana Bohm and NanaK were both horrified that I would instantly slice a hole in Sammy Jane’s binkie…just like that…with no real warning….but I was just kind of done with it. I was/am worried about her teeth and the affect that the prized binkie was having on them….now I can put that worry to rest!
She’s our little trooper though and although the girl can throw one heck of a fit, she does give in eventually and I personally think she is sleeping much better without it because she is not worried about it falling out of her mouth. The first few days she did some miraculous missions underneath couches and desks and pulled out these random binkies…but for now I think all have been captured and placed in a secret hiding place. Of course I will be holding on to the one with the sliced top…it will be a great conversation piece when she is deciding whether or not to give her own newborn a binkie.
