Samantha Jane’s 15 month stats…
By Michelle | September 19, 2008
Sammy Jane and I headed to the doctor this afternoon for her 15 month checkup. I could not wait to let the doc know that we said bye bye to binkie, but I also knew that she was going to ask me about the bottle…which we still have at night…but good lord can’t the poor girl have at least one comfort item left???
She did great at the doc and I told the doctor that she sits so still because when Sarah Jo plays doctor, it seems like poor Sammy Jane is always the patient. She has learned well to sit still or she might get scolded from her big sissy…heehee. The doctor made sure to tell me to thank Sarah Jo for her since her little sis was such a good patient this afternoon.
Our baby girl weighed in at a whopping 18lbs. (less than the 3%) and her length is 29 1/2 inches (25%). I swear that a woman at swimming lessons told us on Wednesday evening that her 5 month old son was 18 lbs. Samantha is developmentally right on track and looks absolutely perfect. To top off the visit she got 2 shots, which we both loved…unfortunately my friends have told me the 5 year old shots are the worst…lots of build up comes along with them…you can’t fool them at that age…they are so on to you!!!
Speaking of swimming lessons, both girls are doing GREAT. Sammy Jane is LOVING her class and Sarah Jo is learning the art of patience since her little sissy has a 1/2 hour lesson before her. Sarah Jo’s class is learning to swim laps in the pool and she is the youngest in the class, but she doesn’t let that stop her. She stays right up and is getting so darn good! We put Sammy Jane back in the PT1 class and she is actually with 4-9 month old babies, but she’s not any bigger, she just has more hair that requires her to wear a swim cap, and I swear to you, once she has that cap on she looks exactly like Sarah Jo…it is unreal!! LeLe and I have been working on dipping her under the water all summer, so she is ahead of her class in that aspect…I’m just so grateful that she in now enjoying it so much.
Sarah Jo is still enjoying school and this past week she told me each morning that she wanted to stay with me and that she missed me, but once I told her that Sammy Jane and I were just doing chores while she was in school, she didn’t seem too interested in sticking around with us. The virtue of the month at school has been self control, and I have to say that we have actually seen a little difference in her behavior…a little more kind to her sissy..a little more patient….nice right???
Sarah Jo is still loving gymnastics and I can tell she is getting a lot stronger. This class is a far cry from the 3 year old class last year, she’s in with little 4 & 5 year olds and Ms. Kim keeps them movin’. I doubt I will be able to keep little Sammy Jane out of the mommy & monkey class much longer, she so wants to play out on the mats with the other kids.
