22 Months and counting

By Michelle | May 25, 2006

We have been down and out with a cold the past week and even had to take Sarah Jo into the doctor on Friday. Luckily, it was just a virus and she is doing much better now. Unfortantely, NanaK was off last week and was looking forward to attending some of Sarah Jo’s classes with us, but we could not go. We did manage to sneak in a shopping trip (Sarah Jo slept through the entire event) and went to lunch with GG (Great-Grandma). She had a great time hanging out with “the girls” at lunch and I think GG had a great time showing her off.

Thanks to Auntie, she has really taken off talking. Auntie always tests her when they are together. Once she gets going it is hard to keep her quiet. “Look Daddy Truck”, “Look Mommy Bird”, “Look Pappa Rock”, “Nana Cookie”. Each day she is saying more and more and it is so amazing to see her recognize and ask for things.

At the doctor last Friday she weighed in at 20lbs, 11oz. She is still not a great eater, but loves to dip things, especially in sour cream. Mexican food is still her food of choice. We still have a ways to go before turning her car seat around, but she will get there in her own time. We are pretty sure whatever she puts in her mouth, she burns off. She is an active one, but with a very sweet, loving spirit, so she makes chasing after her pretty darn fun.

She is just a great little girl and we are hoping that the terrible twos will just pass us by. We can definitely see some independence developing, but nothing that Jeff and I cannot handle so far.

Well it is bath time, so I must close. We hope everyone has a wonderful 3-day weekend. The entire family is making a trip to the SuperMall for some retail therapy. The boys are on Sarah Jo duty, so the girls can get some shopping done. :)

Love to all!
