Pumpkin Patch October 2006

By Michelle | October 8, 2006

We ventured out to the pumpkin patch today and Sarah Jo had a blast! Everytime we looked, her little feet were bound up in pumpkin vines and she was laid flat out on the ground, but each and every time she got right back up and headed off to look for more pumpkins. When we first arrived, we could not figure out why all of the pumpkins had been cut and laid in piles around the farm. When we asked, they told us that this year the pumpkin crop was a bust because the summer was too dry. They actually had to haul pumpkins in to the farm, only the 3rd time in 30 years of business. Luckily Sarah Jo did not know the difference and of course my mom took Sarah Jo to find and pick some great gourds, so we still felt like we got to pick our goodies from the patch. The highlight for Sarah Jo was her “tiny baby” pumpkin as she called it and seeing the farm doggies and baby cows. The girl just LOVES animals! I think doggies definitely top the list at this point.

Time is just moving way too fast and I cannot believe that the front porch is already decorated for fall. Before we know it Christmas will be here, how can that be? Sarah Jo is talking up a storm and is still just as active and busy as ever. My best friend from high school, Mia, is Sarah Jo’s gynmastic coach. Mia is teaching our little girl lots and it gets a little frightening sometimes when you walk into the bathroom and Sarah Jo is perched up on the vanity laughing and playing. My dad is certain that she can make the climb in less than 20 seconds, I bet it is really less than 10 seconds. She absolutely loves gymnastics and they work on the the balance beam, trampoline, bars, floor, and rings every week. Swimming is another favorite of hers and last week we really made great strides in our backfloating. Sarah Jo finally “got it” and did an amazing job. We are so proud of her and cannot wait to see her continue to gain confidence in all of her activites in the upcoming months.

We hope all of you are having a wonderful October and are enjoying all the fall activities. We miss all of you very much and hope to hear from you soon.

Love to all!
