Can Samantha Jane really roll over?

By Michelle | July 1, 2007

Life is crazy around here, Nana Bohm is in Kansas for a wedding and we are definitely missing our part time nanny.  I think it might be the first and only time that the "boys" outnumber the girls….not really, but Dad and Jeff insisted that Sarah Jo and Samantha Jane do not have a vote because they are too little.  I have to give it to them because it is probably going to be the only time they will outnumber the women in this family.  Overall we are doing good and are surviving.  We are all grateful that it is a holiday week this week, Dad will be home on Wednesday for the 4th of July and we are supposed to walk in a parade with Sarah Jo’s gymnastics class, but I think I have come to my senses and we have decided to forego the event this year.  I cannot imagine walking in a parade with a one month old and a 3 year old who doesn’t like her little sister to ride in HER blue stroller. Maybe next year!?!  We are sad that we missed the wedding in Kansas…congrats Charissa and Michael, we wish we could have been there with you to celebrate, but our thoughts were with you this weekend!  Have a wonderful, relaxing honeymoon!!

On Friday we were going to try to go out to Remlinger Farm again because last week we had the car sickness…throwing up episode with Sarah Jo.  We are pretty sure Sarah Jo got car sick on the way out there because of the hills and windy roads.  We promised her that we would try and head out there this Friday, but as soon as we got everyone dressed and all the diapers changed (numerous times), it was pouring down rain.  We made a quick change of plans and decided to go to the Seattle Aquarium in downtown Seattle.  We had a great time and the Aquarium has been completely remodeled.  It is much nicer now than when Jeff and I were kids.  Sarah Jo’s favorite part were the sea lions, seals, and otters…she is still talking about them.  Yesterday dad and I took the girls to the Saturday market for a bit and we had some visitors as well.  We had a full day!  Tonight it was beautiful out so we decided to head to the park for a picnic.  We ran some of that energy out and the girls are currently cuddling on the couch with Daddy.  Tomorrow is our last music class until the fall.  I cannot believe that it is already July 1st…time needs to slow down!!

This morning I put Samantha Jane down on the ground for some morning exercise and went upstairs to get something for Sarah Jo.  All of a sudden Samantha let out her cute little cry and Jeff and I both looked and she had rolled over.  We are pretty sure it was just an accident because we could not recreate it and she should not be rolling over already.  I told her to stay put, we don’t need another active one…heehee.  She is such a mellow, happy baby…the only time she really cries is when we put her in her carseat.  She can get pretty angry and nothing in the world is right when she is strapped down in there.  Hopefully it will pass before Jeff heads back to work.

I don’t even want to talk about Jeff heading back to work, so I won’t.  I know people do it all the time and I cannot complain because he has 2 more months off to help, but it is going to be a huge transition for everyone.  Oh well, nothing I can do about it now at 10pm on Sunday night.

Have a happy and safe 4th!
