Sarah Jo’s allergist appt; Colds, colds go away!!

By Michelle | May 2, 2008

Lots to report since I wrote last.  Sarah Jo did AWESOME at the allergist yesterday and the nurses said that she was one of their best patients (usually when they bring out the little needles most kids lose it)!!  Daddy and Samantha were in the waiting room, but after the first poke Sarah Jo asked for daddy so him and Sammy Jane came in for moral support.  After 17 little pokes and about an 1.5 hour appointment, we found out that she is slightly allergic to cat, but no food allergies which is GREAT!  We have some new topical cream for the eczema and I’m going to take some additional steps (milder laundry detergent, milder soap, and moisturizing 2-3 times per day) to see if we can get the spots on her chin cleared up.  They want to see her again in about 1 month to ensure that her cold is cleared up and to see how the eczema is doing.  If you have any "natural remedies" for eczema, I would love to hear about them!

I’m waiting to hear back about my MRI results regarding my hip, but no news is good news!!  Turns out the little tube is NOT a great place to take a nap for me….I HATE small spaces!!  I made it through though and overcame a fear, so I feel good about that.  Did I mention that I will be SO happy when all these upcoming scans are over!!!

Our dryer currently sounds like an airplane trying to take off.  After 9 good years and more loads of laundry than one can count, I think it is time to put her to rest.  I was thinking that we should just try to get her fixed again to help her limp along for another year or two, but we’ve already put $200 into her a few years ago, so it is time.  With energy prices so high, it would be nice to get a high efficiency washer/dryer set.  Add a comment if you have a washer/dryer that you love, it would be great to hear about them.

Colds are still lingering, but we are going to skip swimming lessons today (we didn’t go to gymnastics either yesterday) to try and shake these colds in time for the Great Wolf Lodge on Sunday.  I’m not sure who is more excited, mommy or Sarah Jo.  We will be sure to take lots of pictures and videos and get the website updated.

Check out the pictures from April that we added, so cute!  Samantha Jane was 11 months old yesterday and getting a little more bold in cruising the furniture.  She is definitely a little more cautious than Sarah Jo in regards to walking, but she is even more silly than Sarah Jo was at this age.  Is that possible??  We are in TROUBLE!

Have a wonderful safe weekend!  Hugs and Love!!
