MRI Results…colds, colds go AWAY!
By Michelle | May 10, 2008
The girls have had a cold FOREVER, so I finally took them in Thursday and we got some meds. I told Jeff that we are just going to keep passing it back and forth if something doesn’t break the cycle. Jeff has it, I have it, Nana and Papa have it, the aunties have it, the girls have it…ENOUGH!! I got a prescription from the doc yesterday and I ran to the drugstore. I’m pretty good about waiting it out, but Sammy Jane’s cough sounds horrible, and it is mid-May for goodness sake..we need to be done! Hopefully we will turn the corner in the next few days!!
The new washer/dryer came yesterday and all the new buttons are so exciting. In fact, I did some light reading with the washer/dryer manuals in bed last night. I know, I love vacuums as well, what can I say?? I’m excited!!
So the orthopedic surgeon left a message on the machine Thursday evening 5:30 and filled me in on my MRI results regarding my hip. There is some degeneration in both my hip labrums which is interesting, but from what I can gather I have a torn hip labrum on the right side. It is kind of like torn cartilage in the knee…since there is no blood that flows to cartilage, it really can’t heal by itself. Of course there is only one guy on the Eastside that does hip arthroscopy and even to get a call back from his scheduler takes 2 days, so I have a call in and we are hoping to get an appointment . I think it will be great to see him and get his opinion because he deals with hips all day long. We are not in a big hurry since I have to get through the radioactive stuff first anyway. Jeff promised me last night that he would get me the best hip money can buy! You got to keep it light, I mean really!!! The orthopedic said from all the people he sees each year, he sees only about 1 with a torn hip labrum. No idea how long I’ve had it,but it seems like I’ve had pain on my right side for years…it has gotten a lot worse with the up and down sit to stand repetitive motion of being a stay -at-home mom. Totally worth it though!
To all the moms out there, Happy Mother’s Day!!
